i2: Versatile Companion

The Segway® Personal Transporter (PT) i2 is our most versatile model. Designed for easy operation over a variety of terrains, the i2 features our new LeanSteer™ technology as well as the new InfoKey™ controller. The perfect synthesis of form, function and fun, the i2 lets you glide through your daily commute or zip from errand to errand, indoors and out, without worrying about parking
The LeanSteer frame and handlebar tilt left and right in response to your body’s natural inclination to lean in the direction you want to travel. The i2 seems to anticipate your every move and adjusts to your slightest whim. The wireless InfoKey controller constantly monitors data such as battery level, speed and distance, and includes a new security feature to help protect your i2.
The i2 also comes equipped with Saphion® lithium-ion batteries. These durable batteries deliver an impressive range of up to 24 miles on a single charge (depending on terrain, riding style and payload). Saphion lithium-ion batteries are low-maintenance, have a long service life and can operate at battery temperatures as low as 14° F / -10° C. The i2 is available in a choice of gloss white or durable anodized black LeanSteer frames and trim. For further customization, a variety of accessories are available from Authorized Segway Dealers.
In addition to the redundant safety features at the heart of all Segway PT models, the i2 comes equipped with a number of standard features, like the wireless infoKey controller, which allows the rider to monitor speed, distance traveled, and battery life, as well as security alarm activation. The LeanSteer frame is adjustable to the comfort of the rider and allows the Segway PT to fit in the trunk of many cars.

The Segway® Personal Transporter (PT) i2 Police is a versatile and productivity-enhancing policing solution, designed specifically for the needs of police officers and security personnel. Based upon the versatile Segway i2, it features the new LeanSteer technology, the wireless InfoKey controller, long-lasting Saphion® lithium-ion batteries and includes the following components
- Lower Cargo Frames protect the fenders and provide a rugged look. They can also be used to easily lift the Segway i2 Police into and out of service vehicles
- Accessory Bar is perfect for mounting lights, sirens, a GPS unit, and other accessories that utilize round handlebar clamps
- Comfort Mats alleviate the fatigue that can occur when standing for long periods
- Police/Security Reflectivity helps establish presence and enhance officer visibility in the dark or in high-traffic locations
- Handlebar Bag offers various storage options for emergency and patrol equipment
- LED Tail Light attaches with a versatile clip and alerts traffic to your presence
The i2 Police maximizes a police officer's visibility, as well as his or her ability to be seen by others. Raising an officer an additional eight inches off the ground, it places an officer a clear head above the crowd. Segway PT riders have superior sight lines for traffic management, crowd control, and community policing. The Segway i2 Police also makes officers more approachable, and allows them to respond more quickly to emergency situations.

Based upon the versatile Segway i2, it features the new LeanSteer technology, the wireless InfoKey controller, long-lasting Saphion® lithium-ion batteries and includes the following components:
- Segway Hard Cases provide sturdy lockable storage, and can be easily secured/removed from the cargo system
- Side Cargo Supports, Universal Cargo Plates and Lower Cargo Frames comprise an integrated cargo system that secures a variety of payloads
